One of the Best Game Changing Spell of Shane Warne:
One of the Best Spell in the History of Limited Over Format was Shane Warne’s performance in the 2nd Semifinal of the World Cup 1996.
Chasing 208, WI were 165/2 at a stage, then McGrath provided the Breakthrough. Then came Shane Warne and his unplayable Deliveries put the batting shutter of the West Indies Batsman absolutely Down. His 4 wickets haul including the wicket of Brian Lara, with a Bowling Figure 9-0-36-4 changed the things completely and as a Result Australia won and qualified for the Final.
Another World Cup Semifinal of World Cup 1999. Australia was overwhelmed by the fiery pace attack of Pollock and Donald and South Africa was 48/0 chasing a tiny total of just 214.
McGrath & Fleming were being decimated by Gibbs and Kirsten. But that’s half the story. At the 12th over came Shane Warne. In a short spell of two overs, he single-handedly devastated the South African batting by getting Gibbs, Kirsten and skipper Cronje. Although it was a Tie but Australia qualified for winning the Super Six Match against South Africa. Thanks for your Precious Memories.
